   Growing up in Lynchburg, Virginia, Tom played trumpet through college at UNC-Greensboro where he received a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education. Though he plays many different styles, jazz has always been Tom’s first love in music. He then moved to Raleigh, NC where he led the Second Set jazz band, playing his own original tunes.

   Now Tom resides in Roanoke, Virginia and is active in the music scene, playing with many local artists including Jstop Latin Soul, JoJo Stockton, Shawn Spencer & Star City Swag, Lew Woodall, and the Tom Floyd Trio. Floyd also specialized in solo piano, and continues to enjoy performing for jazz fans and music lovers in SW Virginia.
